1. SITUATION
Situation Time: 00:30L 14 September 2016, Day 7
Lighting: Night – Dark moon
Weather: Clear skies.
With the Taliban failing to make a stand in Salmari and Samari, military intelligence have picked up that a number of insurgents have broken away from the main Taliban forces and have established themselves along the river in the south between Kumbotso and the low water crossing NE of Danashiwa. They have established a makeshift base in a clearing north of the river about half a kilometer east of the crossing from where they occasionally launch small raids on Danashiwa to obtain food. The enemy consists only of small infantry squads with a slightly larger force expected at their camp.
The choppers at Camp Tusk are currently being serviced and will not be available.
The chopper technicians brought with them a crate of new AN/PEQ-15 lasers. All personnel are to swap out their existing lights.
2. Mission
- Eliminate the Taliban along the river and destroy the their camp.
