In recent months after Zulu-Alpha Successfully captured and holding of FOB, daily tasks for the ranger unit have been nothing more than clearing of the occasional goat getting lost and peaceful patrols.
However, a civilian revolt in the infancy stage are on the cards and have seen some civilians arming themselves, although they maintain neutrality towards both US and ISIS it has manifested a breeding ground for the ISIS militants. This has given the enemy a massive advantage to operate within the mass population. This has serious implications of PID’ing targets and still maintaining combat effectiveness.
During nighttime, the ISIS have been proactively busy undoing our work and the very next day IED’s can be expected mere meters away from yesterday.
On reported activities and casualties thus far Intel has compiled a list of dirty known tactics used by the Militants:
- Hide IED’s in rubble/rubbish
- Litter the street to mask IED’s emplacment
- VBIED’s (Bigger vehicles has bigger explosions, BUS has 100m kill radius)
- Dirty Bombs (Pictures hanging skew)
- Wall bombs (Seen with Fuse hanging out)
- Effective kill-zone when defusing IED’s
- Similar clothing pattern as civilians Especially in market places.
- Dead Animals
- Abandoned vehicles masked to be VBIED’s
- Using civilians as Suicide bombers – Unconfirmed
All in all, a shitbucket…
