    1. SITUATION

    Situation Time: 04:20L
Lighting: Full Moon, Dawn at 05:05L, Sunrise at 05:50L
    Weather: Clear skies, unlimited visibility.

After a recent surge in aggression by Al-Shabaab along the Kenyan border with Somalia, including attacks on several bases housing US troops and culminating in the capturing of the town of Danashiwa, both the US and Kenyan governments have agreed to take more overt actions against Al-Shabaab.

The town of Danashiwa is immediately behind a deep river, with limited crossings and Al-Shabaab have dug in along it. There are also reports of persecution of the inhabitants of the town, as they are Christian.

Zulu-Alpha is tasked with commanding and assisting a Kenyan mixed mechanized platoon in securing one of two crossings over the river and re-taking the town.

    A. Enemy Forces:
Enemy forces consist of a company strength of pure infantry spread out along the river and the town and mconducting a deliberate defence of the river. This defence consists of bunkers (identified on the map) along the river, of around 4 men each.

Crossing 1 is a wooden bridge with a checkpoint housing extra men in addition to the overwatching bunker, and the forest on the near side of the river ahead of crossing 1 is patrolled by the enemy.

Crossing 2 is less defended, with only one bunker, however, it is mined and is a shallow water crossing.

There are patrols all along the river on the far side. The town has around 20 men in total.

The enemy is currently in a low state of preparedness, as most of them are sleeping, including at the bunkers, however, they usually wake up at sunrise.

The enemy is expected to react to any attack that their front like forces has time to report back with a QRF, coming from the South. This QRF is expected to have several motorized vehicles, mainly consisting of technicals. No armour is expected.

    B. Friendly Forces:
Zulu-Alpha is located in Outpost Onager, several KM North of the River, along with the Kenyan Army unit, under the command of Dragon actual. There is a field hospital in outpost Onager.
